Judging by the ‘barring’ on the underside of her tail, our Totoro is a sweet little girl.
She is getting much friendlier, but has some naughty jewellery-chewing habits that cause her to tug at my earrings and necklace when she’s riding on my shoulder x3
She’s also had a star appearance on local tv in Dunedin, on a show called Cow TV (as my best friend Dianne is a presenter ^__^)
I’ve decided it’s been too long to ask anyone for donations for her, so maybe her adoptable will be released as a special freebie sometime in the future
Here’s some newish pics of her, and her jungle gym which is still under construction
now me and Totoro say buh-bye, thanks for watching! xoxo

Hey all,
still unsure of birds gender but whatever he/she turns out to be, I’ve semi-settled on the name Totoro for him
he gets jealous of me using the computer (even when I’m working on CS!) so he constantly sits on my mouse-hand or walks on my keyboard… he even pooped in my keyboard once, and then walked on the ’sleep’ button so my computer went into standby mode
here’s a pic of him

today we’ve had a breakthrough vege-wise, he’s eaten some lettuce and some corn! And he ate a couple of green grapes too
normally he refuses to eat any fruit/veg so at least he’s growing up! hehe

Birdys first day of relative freedom
Hey everyone, this is Tess
Our birdy still hasn’t been named, and I still haven’t taken donations for a bird adoptable, but I’ll try and get onto that soon as the set-up did take a rather large chunk out of my bank-account ;P
Here he/she is, enjoying his first day of freedom (finally tame enough to come out of the cage!)
We’re starting to bond, but it’s been a slow process, hard to connect with something that won’t let you near it
But he’s been so well-behaved today, he willingly flew to my hands and climbed back into his cage when I opened the door for him
His favourite treat food is millet, so I have some millet sprays and a packet of seed for when he’s being shy and needs extra encouragement to come to me :3 it’s been the key to making friends with this guy, I tell you.
He is like a kid though, and refuses to eat his greens, or veges of any description! I’ve tried corn, silverbeet, lettuce, broccoli, he barely goes for any of it
He’s also got a few ‘pin feathers’ on his head but he’s too shy to let me groom them for him yet. He’s learnt a special whistle which Dianne taught him, but I can’t whistle so he gets sad that I don’t respond to him
I have to talk back instead
Still no name!

So… it’s day 4 in my new home…
There’s this person who shares my room… I don’t really know who she is, but she tops up my food bowl and cleans away my er.. messes.. so she’s alright by me. Although she does chirp at me in some strange language and no matter how loud or slowly I talk she doesn’t seem to understand a word I say to her. So communication is pretty much useless. I guess she is just a silly lesser-being like those finches at my birth-place; but maybe I can train her to bring me millet and sunflower seeds if I take it nice and gentle with her.
She’s started feeding me treats by her big pink lumpy wing-feet things and to tell you the honest truth those things freak me out the way they sprout from her neck like that on big long wiggly pink leg things but I guess she just isn’t built for flying, well maybe I could teach her if she’d just let me out of this darn cage! It’s like she has 2 sets of legs, well that’s pretty useless because how does she escape from cats? I just don’t know about her.
Anyway so I just thought I oughta say hello to you guys since that weird girl showed me these little pics that look like me, just sitting there on her computer screen, so I think you should know the real me! I’m not some silly drawing you know!
